9.1 Laptop Shutdown Reboot

Hi all, I've two laptops, while installing 9.1 and then updating system, I think I noticed that I cannot now shut the system (I think I could at least reboot properly prior to downloading system updates after installation). Both appear to begin the shutdown process but hangs at the following: Running /etc/init.d/halt.local Anyway to correct this?
