Screensavers?

I've reciently installed suse 7.2 professional. When I set the screensaver I want to use in the control center, look and feel, screensaver, and click on the enable screensaver box at the top. It never works. The screensaver never turns on. When I click test, it workes ok, but it never works on it's own. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, John
