I just downloaded the lastest RC release and I'm installing it now.
I assume that would be RC1.
It came as a single "KDE" CD that causes lots of packages to be downloaded (3GB+ for me).
So even if all the packages on the GA cd are good, this approach is going to cause massive package downloading during the install?
If you say yes to use the network repos, it will pull all the updates available since RC1 came out, basically upgrading to RC2, meaning a huge download.
Is that the way the GA cds/dvds are going to work? I hope not for everyone's sake.
No. The main repos of the released versions do not change for years, whereas the factory repos do. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
