Packagekit does not seem to recognise difference between packages, as she complains about the above, refering to the wrapped package: 2.1.0.81-0w1.1, that is installed, and works, thinking the dep for that package cannot be solved, while another package has to be installed. I am not realy a newby, but i can imagine the pain it causes to try to install an app, and some burocratic packagemanager fails to recognise the file that is needed is there, but provided by a version with a higher number. No, it is the new package that doesn't say it is a replacement for the old one. And in any case, packagekit is known to be broken. Use yast or zypper instead.
OK package kit is broken. Yast does not react when choosen from a filemanager. And i do not know how to install from a directory exept what i try to do with rpm: rpm {-i} [--nodeps] --dbpath ~/oddball/Downloads/pkgfile (if i want to install) or rpm {-u} [--nodeps] --dbpath ~/oddball/Downloads/pkgfile (if i want to upgrade) would this be correct? - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E.
