Hi. I am running into difficulty while installing software via YAST. Applications appear to install correctly but at the end I get a window saying that errors were reported during the install and listing which applications failed. A look at /var/log/messages shows the following: kernal: hdg: cdrom_decode_status: status=0x51 {DriveReady SeekComplete Error} kernal: hdg: cdrom_decode_status: error=0xb0LastFailedSense 0x0b kernal: Buffer I/O error on device hdg, logical block 91941 kernal: hdg: media error (bad sector): status=0x51 {DriveReady SeekComplete Error} kernal: hdg: media error (bad sector): status=0x30 kernal: hdg: media error (bad sector): status=0x51 {DriveReady SeekComplete Error} kernal: hdg: media error (bad sector): status=0x30 kernal: end_request: I/O error, dev hdg, sector 367824 I get several iterations of the above. I am getting this on two identical workstations, both brand new. I have tried replaing the IDE cable and verified the CDROM drives are jumped properly. I know that my SUSE cd's are in good condition and I do not have any problems with them on other systems. I am wondering if the problem could lie somewhere else in the system. Any ideas? Thanks! Jesse
