I've a big problem: I've installed a 6.3 on a reiserfs, and I want now to update my system. I boot on the reiserfs boot disk to do the base system update.
If you have a ReiserFS based 6.3 system, what are you updating it to? 6.4 has not been released yet. You boot on an installation disk to update the whole distribution. Since 6.3 is the latest, what do you mean by wanting to update your system? If you intend to install the updated packages for 6.3 from ftp.suse.com, then you can do that in the running system. Use yast->Choose/Install packages->Install packages.
All works fine until yast tries to mount the reiserfs partition on /mnt. It fails (why? I can do the mount manually!), and there is no possibility to continue the update. Is there any way to skip the HD mounting part of the setup?
You can try to mount the disk manually just before yast tries to. Switch to one of the virtual consoles, I think Alt-F2 has a shell running on it, and mount the disk. In any case, it's not clear what you are doing. -- Rafael -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
