I am sending this to the SuSE list as well as to the KDE-Alpha list. Chris seems to still be having problems with his ISP. This KDE-Alpha list seems to be down agian. If anybody on the SuSE list knows what the status of the kalpha list is I'd like to know. Here's the original message, posted to the kalpha list: I really appreciate the fact that Chris has done so much hard work in getting the pre-alpha rpms out. I've been trying to get the CVS sourch to compile. I am new at this, and have hit a few sangs. I run this little script: _____________________________________________________________ bash-2.03# cat /root/bin/compilekde #!/bin/bash ln -s ../kde-common/admin . make -f Makefile.cvs ./configure make bash-2.03# ______________________________________________________________ I do this from the directory where the source is. For example, _______________________________________________________________ /data/working/src/kde/kdebase or /data/working/src/kde/kdelibs _______________________________________________________________ When I try to compile I get this: _______________________________________________________________ bash-2.03# compilekde ln: ./admin: File exists This Makefile is only for the CVS repository This will be deleted before making the distribution *** Concatenating configure tests into acinclude.m4 *** Creating list of subdirectories in subdirs *** Searching for subdirectories... *** Retrieving configure tests needed by configure.in *** Scanning for include statements configure.in:80: warning: AC_TRY_RUN called without default to allow cross compiling /usr/bin/autoheader: Symbol `PACKAGE' is not covered by /usr/share/autoconf/acconfig.h /usr/bin/autoheader: Symbol `VERSION' is not covered by /usr/share/autoconf/acconfig.h make[1]: *** [cvs] Error 1 make: *** [all] Error 2 /root/bin/compilekde: ./configure: No such file or directory make: *** No targets.
