Hello list!
I have just installed opensuse 11 and have tried to setup kdm, instead of xdm. I chose to use kdm and still xdm is running.
I think the following file might be what you're looking for. /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager Here's the first 9 lines from my displaymanager file. ## Path: Desktop/Display manager ## Description: settings to generate a proper displaymanager config ## Type: string(kdm,kdm3,kdm4,xdm,gdm,wdm,console) ## Default: "" # # Here you can set the default Display manager (kdm/xdm/gdm/wdm/console). # all changes in this file require a restart of the displaymanager # DISPLAYMANAGER="kdm3" Probably the last line above in your file reads "xdm". Try changing it to "kdm3" I'd recommend using kdm3. I've tried using kdm4, and it seems to ignore my attempts to change the settings (fonts and colours).
