While using multimedia apps such as kscd/amarok/rhythmbox (that access the sound card thru artsd sound server), the system freezes and then I get a dialog box "artsmessage : Sound server fatal error, cpu overload" Thereafter, no sound from the app. I have played around with the sound system settings in KDE sound control center with no avail. At present the settings are ALSA/FullDuplex in the HW panel. In the General panel I have set the priority to "realtime." I can play a CD/MP3/OGG files with alsaplayer though in this scenario. I am encountering this on both 32 bit as well as 64 bit editions of SuSE 9.2 and 9.3. SuSE 9.2/9.3 (32/64bit) KDE: 3.4.2 (9.3) Sound Card: SBLive 5.1 Any solution/workaround for this problem?
