Choosing and installing SM doens't prevent installing and using FF too for whatever little functionality FF has that SM doesn't.
Firefox seems to be more up to date and do more things than SM. For example, the Firefox Hello WebRTC video chat is only available in Firefox.
Hence the word "little". I don't see myself ever installing a web cam aimed at myself, so neither expect to use any kind of video chat. Some things Firefox adds get added to SM on a delayed basis. That can be a good thing, allowing time for unforseen consequences to be found and worked out or backed out. SM has what the vast majority of people *need* in a web browser. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
