[mail server won't delete d/l messages]
categorizable by the subject/sender. Then I tried fetchmail -a -F -K again. Same results. Finally, I tried using Netscape Messenger to directly download from the Yahoo! pop server. Somehow, Messenger downloaded 4500+ messages (there's only ~1300+, remember), and unexplicably, 950+ still remain in my Inbox on Yahoo! WTF?
I experianced the same with my *ex* provider. When the d/l broke for any reason I'd d/l all messages again, since delete was obviously done on finish, that under bad conditions never happened. try the verbose option (-v) to enable the control / protocol messages. Usually you should read something like "message deleted" in between. One other option -also to prevent enourmous d/l times- is to tell fetchmail to read only the first 100 messages (not sure about the option, could be -b, batchlimit or rather -B 100 or --fetchlimit 100) and after that try again and see wether that helps.
Hellllpppp!!!
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I am getting _NO_ response from Yahoo!'s feedback department, nor have I ever in regards to the earlier occurences of this problem.
Hmm. other free e-mail provider?? (i.e. gmx http://www.gmx.de or http://www.gmx.co.uk) Juergen
Thanks for your time,
Monte
