You are confused or my system (.no-ip.org) works differently. I have a deamon, /usr/local/bin/start.noip2, installed in /etc/init.d/boot.local that runs at boot to check my address and notify no-ip.org if it changes. <Knock on wood> But, in two years it has not changed. I was asked by roadrunner once when talking to a tech about virus infected locations attempting access to my machine if I would like them to change but I declined.
I am almost certain that dydns.org operates the same way. I am sure that someone will correct me if I am in error here. --
Have you tried ddclient? It's very easy to setup if you follow the red-hat installation in the readme. The only difference for SuSE is where it says to copy files to /etc/rc.d/init.d Just lose the rc.d bit. You can get it at the dyndns site. Good luck, Steve.
