Hi all, I think I know that "transcode" does this, but last time I asked a question on that list the reply was effectively "if you have to ask, you shouldn't be using transcode", so I thought I'd try here. I'd like to recode some digital video from the full resolution of my camera down to something less. Basically I have DVD stuff I burned ages ago using something under windows (Nero, I think?) and it's 640x480, or some such. But anyway, it's big, and high res. I'd like to be able to shrink it down to something smaller, mainly in terms of space, but I'd be happy enough to lose resolution too, say to 320x240? It would be useful if I could turn it back into a more "ordinary" format, like mpg, maybe. Any suggestions? And if I have to use "transcode" is there a comprehensible manual for the trivial user?
