Hi Folks,
However, I'm unable to find/install gcc-fortran and dvgrab using YaST.
Are these packages not available with the ISO or am I doing something wrong? I know there's a gcc-fortran rpm on ftp.gwdg.de, but I'm unclear about how that fits in with YaST. I'd rather not get in the mode of installing these various packages from source, and this has always been SuSE strong point. If apt is the answer, why not use Debian?
Hi Again, Replying to my own questions, it seems that gcc FORTRAN was renamed to "gfortran", it was there all along! dvgrab "seems" to be replaced with "dvconnect". I haven't tried it yet. YaST search didn't find dvconnect, I noticed it in a library reference called up by smart. It would seem there's a bit of a documentation issue here. Thanks to Patrick Shanahan I'll buy some boxed 10.1 sets from Amazon. I wonder why they're harder to get these days? Usually, Frys would have them on the shelves within days of the announcement.
