I use memtest86 for UEFI systems:
menuentry "memtest86 8.3 EFI" { search --no-floppy --label --set=root P01ESP chainloader /mt83x64.efi }
I have it installed on a USB stick and that works. However, I have always installed it, so that it was available in the boot menu. This isn't critical, but it would be nice, as more and more computers use UEFI.
Where is that menuentry found?
he probably added it himself
I just recently grabbed the 15.4 rc/beta (?) iso from end of april 2022 and created the bootable usb stick to boot from. My newer test system kind of only boots the uefi boot variant of this usb stick then, but I dont see any memtest entries in the available boot options there, in contrast to previous versions such as 15.3 and earlier. Although those older attempts back years ago probably were like on non-uefi systems. Is memtest86plus not really available for or on uefi systems? is there something about uefi firmware booting the memtest86plus image or something? also I found on the memtest.org page of the project that there is memtest86+ in version 6.00 preview just as of recently some days ago, and they offered various iso files and I could put them on a multiboot usb stick (windows world: yumi multiboot creator software, <https://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/> ) and it placed the mere tiny .iso images of the memtest86+ (6.0) in a special folder on the multiboot usb stick and I was able to boot into happily working memtest86+ 6.0 on the uefi hardware. will uefi boot of memtest 5.x or 6.x come to opensuse leap? is memtest86+ not included on the uefi boot variant of the leap 15.4 iso (via usb stick)? ty
