Hi,

is it possible to use any of the version 6 beta RPM's in Suse 5.3?
I would like to upgrade my proftpd ftp server as the version distributed in 5.3 lacking some useful features.
5.3 is supposed to run glibc-binaries, so you might be lucky. The package installed without errors, but I haven't tested the server itself.
Bye, LenZ
I did go ahead an tryed it on my local experiment box, telneted into it and installed via ftp and it worked fine all the way... the only thing was that the proftpd.conf file was replaced (but backed up as well). So I continued to do the same on my main server with success and now runs ver 1.20Pre1 there. Sorry for bothering with this, but felt unsere about it all when I emailed... but thanks.
