Hi, I have installed Suse 7.0 (I installed it recently) and I'm experiencing problems when doing ftp to Sun machines that run Solaris 8.0. The error I'm getting is (assume source is linux 7.0 and destination is aaa.aaa.com, running Solaris 8.0): ftp> o aaa.aaa.com Connected to aaa.aaa.com. 220 aaa FTP server (Servidor FTP) ready. Name (aaa.aaa.com:mbenet): root 331 Password required for root. Password: 230 User root logged in. Remote system type is UNIX. Using binary mode to transfer files. ftp> hash Hash mark printing on (1024 bytes/hash mark). ftp> cd /usr/local/src 250 CWD command successful. ftp> mput pat* mput patchdiag.xref [anpqy?]? y 229 Entering Extended Passive Mode (|||43835|) 200 EPRT command successful. 425 Can't build data connection: Address family not supported by protocol family. ftp> ls 200 EPRT command successful. 425 Can't build data connection: Address family not supported by protocol family. ftp> ^D suse_linux_:~ $ I would think it's my instalation, but the fact that other Suse boxes that I've checked have the same problem make me think that it's problem of the Suse FTP client. It works from other distributions such as Debian, Slackware and Redhat. It's this a Suse problem (if so, there's any patch around available?) or it's a configuration error in my machine. I appreciate any help. Thanks, Manolo
