Hi All I'm not really looking for a fix persay more an explanation of why if possible as I intend to wipe it and start again when 10.2 is ready. I run OpenSuse 10.1 with KDE as the default however I've been using Gnome session over the last month or so I also was happily using Beryl with XGL. On Sunday last after messing with fstab (Which cant be related) my system started playing up. 1. Try to login for Gnome session: It looks like its working then jumps back to the login screen. 2. Try to login for KDE session: Error message dcop (might have spelt that wrong) server not running. 3. Try to login for FVwm session: All OK desktop comes up fine. 5. After running a FVwm session I can login to either Gnome or KDE weird or what? 6. .ICE authority permissions keep changing of their own accord: get an error message "Could not write to .ICE Authority" (I know how to sort that but not how to stop it changing on its own). 7. Beryl dead it was working before but now cannot use beryl window manager: It says compiz-manager is selected but thats dead too if I try to start beryl-manager from command line it says XGL not installed... But It Is!! The really strange thing is my daughters can login in fine although xgl/Beryl isn't working for them either. -- Regards Peter Cannon "There is every excuse for not knowing There is no excuse for not asking" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
