The problem is the list. If you hit "Reply" it sends an email to the individual that posted not to the list itself. If you want your reply to hit the list too you have to manually type in a cc: or bcc: of suse-linux-e@suse.com which is a pain.
Whoever set up the list a SuSE should change it. I'm often amazed at how poorly many of the Linux distro lists are run. RedHat uses a program that I've never heard of and it's extremely unreliable and awkward. Caldera's had archiving problems (the problem being that the archive was non-existant) which may or may not have been fixed.
No, we won't change this behaviour. We had it configured like this some time ago and we experienced mail loops on a regular basis due to broken mail servers. Just check our List archive for some comments about these floods :) Bye, LenZ -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Lenz Grimmer SuSE GmbH <A HREF="mailto:grimmer@suse.de">mailto:grimmer@suse.de</A> Schanzaeckerstr. 10 <A HREF="http://www.suse.de/~grimmer"><A HREF="http://www.suse.de/~grimmer</A">http://www.suse.de/~grimmer</A</A>> 90443 Nuernberg, Germany -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
