Thanks for the reply Carlos, I tried opening it in several text editors. They all fail before opening complaining that the file is too large. Thanks, Regis On Thu, 2009-02-12 at 16:17 +0100, Carlos E. R. wrote:

The question is, is there a known application that I can use to access the old 2gig+ email file? I've got a number of emails in there that I'd hate to lose.
A text editor.
Browse the file, learn to distinguish where do an email starts and ends, and then write one half to a file and another half to another.
