It really depends upon how the mail was sent. Do you use postfix or sendmail or does it go right out to your ISP?
No I don't although I have postfix installed. When I have the time I think that might be the next thing to get setup. Long term goal is to become comfortable with Mutt and use that as my MUA. However I've got to practise with it for awhile before I'll be ready to leave a GUI mail client behind.
I still think it's kmail adding that line, as kmail is the only program in the chain which knows you by that email address. It is not part of the message body as the message is being transmitted, but an envelope address (which explains why it isn't mentioned below). This may be what qmail is picking up on.
The more I think about it the more I think you're right: the offending program is probably KMail who is playing silly games with the envelope. I am going to run some tests this afternoon using only one e-mail address at a time. I will delete the others from KMail.
I presume you've checked through all the kmail options?
Yes :)
As I said, I can't really help in that respect. Sorry, Chris
Thanks anyway. Jethro
