Thanks. The thought occurs that downloading everything first might be a problem if certain updates must be performed in a specific sequence. Hopefully zypper is smart enough to handle that.
Zypper installs things in the required order. For example, if there are a bunch of updates, and one is "libzypp", it will download that one first, install it, exit/restart, download the rest, install the rest.
