All OK so far. Now here is where the windows and linux clients differ:
host LXDE2 Host LXDE2 not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
host lxde2.hh3.site Host lxde2.hh3.site not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
host lxde2 Host lxde2 not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
You don't have an appropriate search domain. /etc/resolv.conf: search hh3.site nameserver 192.so.me.thing Every linux machine should have that. I don't know if the dhcp server can assign it.
host 192.168.1.22 Host 22.1.168.192.in-addr.arpa. not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
If reverse assignation from the dhcp server does not happen, you can set fixed arbitrary names, like 168.1.22.hh3.site - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
