I'm trying to set up an stb card using the nvidia 128zx chipset with 8MB ram. I seem to be having some problems getting it to run in anything but 8bpp mode. I want to run in at least 1280x1024 truecolor. Anyone use this card? Anybody have a config ^^^^^^^^^ Sorry, I cannot help on your specific problem but I really would like to know why people want to use this strange resolution!?
Every sane resolution has an ratio of 4:3 (800x600, 1024x768, 1600x1200). So why do people want to use 1280x1024? It makes ellipses out of circles, rectangles out of squares, it hurts the eyes. Yes, Windows drivers provide this resolution, but is this really a reason? I always used 1280x960 and am now at 1520x1140...
file they could send me to look at? I remember nvidia use to have an faq on setting up under linux but I can't find it now.

Still trying to convince the XFree86 people to use 1280x960 instead of 1280x1024... - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
