I tried to install 42.3 on a new disk and could my distribution medium says it cannot open http://dow3nloaqde.opensuse.org/leap/42.3/repo.oss. It therefore could not get any updates. I have tried for two days. Is there an explanation for this?
42.3 is certainly not EOL yet, but the URL you wrote above is certainly wrong.
The URL was recalled from memory, and sloppy typing late at night. The followup email I sent, which did not appear to be posted, said:
Running Yum I get: Timeout exceeded when accessing 'http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.3/repo/oss/suse/setup/desc...
Yum and zipper all try to read this file before proceeding, and therefore I am hung. I sent the followup email to correct the obvious mistakes pointed out by Patrick. I looked at my copy of the followup email and the address is opensuse@opensuse.org. I don't know why it was not posted. I tried to correct the previous mistake.
so problems abound. why yum on a system which defaults to zypper/rpm and/or yast?
to troubleshoot problems, remove variables and use basics, ie: yum????
Sorry, I did mean yast. I have been reading some Redhat documentation and am a bit tired and frustrated. I am also a lousy typist, as you have noted numerous times. Don -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
