I started yast and got as far as choosing the partitions.

error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - No such file or directory (2)
This error occurred after I chose the partitions and before the screen to setup a user was displayed.

I've tried changing LANG and LC_ALL to various values (blank, 'C' etc) but it doesn't seem to make any difference. y2log shows this at the end of its run: 2010-02-15 14:59:34 <1> 10.14.0.9(7366) [Interpreter] clients/hwinfo_proposal.ycp:34 Calling YaST client hwinfo_proposal 2010-02-15 14:59:34 <1> 10.14.0.9(7366) [YCP] InitHWinfo.ycp:93 memory: [$["bus":"None", "bus_hwcfg":"none", "class_id":257, "model":"Main Memory", "old_unique_key":"4srm.CxwsZFjVASF", "resource":$["mem":[$["active":true, "length":1072561152, "start":0]], "phys_mem":[$["range":1073741824]]], "sub_class_id":2, "unique_key":"rdCR.CxwsZFjVASF"]] 2010-02-15 14:59:34 <1> 10.14.0.9(7366) [YCP] InitHWinfo.ycp:181 System string: and when I turn debugging on for a later run, the last line is followed by this: 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <1> 10.14.0.9(14857) [YCP] InitHWinfo.ycp:181 System string: 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (initialized@0x9f09818 = 'true') 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [libycp] ExecutionEnvironment.cc(popframe):115 Pop frame 0xa05bc68 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [libycp] ExecutionEnvironment.cc(pushframe):105 Push frame String::FormatSizeWithPrecision (memory_size, 2, true) 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (bytes@0x80b1328 = '1073741824') 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (precision@0x80b13c0 = '2') 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (omit_zeroes@0x80b1478 = 'true') 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (units@0x80b5be8 = '["B", "kB", "MB", "GB", "TB"]') 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (index@0x80b5c38 = '0') 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (whole@0x80b5ce8 = '1.07374e+09') 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (whole@0x80b5ce8 = '1.04858e+06') 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (index@0x80b5c38 = '1') 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (whole@0x80b5ce8 = '1024.') 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (index@0x80b5c38 = '2') 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (whole@0x80b5ce8 = '1.') 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (index@0x80b5c38 = '3') 2010-02-15 17:13:33 <0> 10.14.0.9(14857) [liby2] SymbolEntry.cc(setValue):107 SymbolEntry::setValue (precision@0x80b13c0 = '0')
I've still no idea what it means. Does anybody have a clue?
Sadly, this is still the case. Does anybody know what these yast logs mean? Thanks, Dave -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
