I recently upgraded my HP Omnibook Xe2-DC (product code F2028WT) laptop from SuSE Linux 7.2 to SuSE Linux 7.3 (pretty much a stock installation). Every now and then, apparently at random intervals, the machine will freeze, not responding to keyboard or touchpad input (not even Ctrl-Alt-Del). Only a hard reboot will bring the machine back. When the machine freezes, the caps lock and scroll lock LEDs will start blinking (about 1/s). HP supports says "as far as I know, the LEDs are not used for any diagnostics". This has happened twice so far today (in a few hours of running). I am not 100% sure that the freezes started after the SuSE 7.3 upgrade, but I think so... Any suggestions? Is this more likely to be a hardware failure? -Erik
