How shall I tell it to do hat ? Is it necessary ?
No. Making an iso isn't need. Just go to the menu and create a new project..then drag all the files that you want to be on the CD into the project window and click the burn icon.

Sure ... I do not know the data format it requires and have to save my project in a few hours given that I have to fly back to St.Louis in exactly 6 hours. I do not know whetehr k3b expects an iso-image like xcdroast ...
k3b will create the iso-image for you if you tell it to.
