What existing system? You don't tell us what kind of hardware you are proposing to attach to this card or anything else.
If top two paragraphs of this email had not been snipped, you'd see that I ask if this Adaptec unit is compatible with SuSE 10.0 on a Linux 2.6.13 Kernal
If your have the card and you have drivers (aic7xxx) then give it a try, but I don't think anybody else is in a position to make promises.....
