KMail minor questions

The first question is how do I get kmail to rescan its folders. The kmail icon shows a few unread messages, but going to the next unread message does not work which would indicate to me that ether there are some unread messages, but the folder navigation does not detect them, or that there are no unread messages, and the icon is displaying a bogus number. The other question is that clicking on a URL is intermittent at best. A coworker is having the same problem and says a reboot solved the problem.
