For that matter, the entire Linux machine does not show up on the network when I check the network from my wife's Vista laptop.

THAT's a different issue entirely! The Samba machine is loosing the master browser war. Check the workgroup & domain settings, .. you might have to force a share - have you tried using the UNC name on the Vista machine?
You don't need to have vista "see" the printer's host in network neighborhood (or what ever Vista calls it) in order to use a CUPS printer. I have Cups printers in other Cities defined to windows machines with the simple ipp://ip-address:631/printers/printer-name specification. http://whitepapers.zdnet.com/abstract.aspx?docid=83557 -- ----------JSA--------- Someone stole my tag line, so now I have this rental. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
