It looks like you need to determine what device /var/lib/rpm is on then use something like 'lsblk'
Doesn't matter, it is not btrfs. Beyond that, it is for the devs at the other side of the Bugzilla to find out ;-) I have no idea why stat doesn't differentiate ext4.
