Hello everybody,
Problem: When I open a mp3 file it is opened with a unwanted mediaplayer and it cannot be changed in fileassociations.
I have 3 mediaplayers installed amarok, clementine and vlc.
I have opened in systemsettings fileassociations the mp3 setting. In the 'application preference order' field i removed vlc, the preference order is now clementine, amarok only.
The same thing I did for x-mp3. I logged out and logged in. But my mp3 is still opened by vlc, how is this possible ?
Using: OS: Linux 3.1.10-1.9-desktop x86_64 System: openSUSE 12.1 (x86_64) KDE: 4.8.2 (4.8.2) "release 494"
The changes are saved,if I look in file associations it shows exactly what I want Mp3 should be opened with clementine. But this doesn't happen, thats the problem.
After some investigation I found the following behaviour. In some way a .mp3 file extension is associated with the .mpeg file extension. If I change the setting for .mpeg to clementine first, my .mp3 file is played with clementine. Thats also not what I want, mp3 should be audio and .mpeg should be video, correct ? Audio should be played with clementine or amarok and video should be played by vlc or kaffeine. But if both are recognized as .mpeg how should I make the difference? ???????, Hans -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
