In the case mentioned it is a generic RPM package.
More especifically it is the latest VirtualBox RPM package.
I am using the same package. Download the rpm to a local filesystem.
sudo zypper in /path-to/VirtualBox-4.2-4.2.6_82870_openSUSE114-1.x86_64
works for me
package is labled for 11.4 but works on all > 11.4. Do not know the other way.
Rajko, Your several explanations have been useful enough to understand the problem. Then if the "guilty" is Apper, "we" should have the equivalent package manager for Gnome which could be started within Firefox by clicking on the RPM link or even better "we" should have a corrected Apper. I use 99,9% Gnome but I have also KDE as alternative desktop and I see that this mix is not working as expected. Manual RPM installation also works flawlessly for me, but I would like a faster way to do the same thing!
