Prove yast to do the eth0 configuration. You must write the host name, the domain name, the DNS and to the right of the DNS, search server, one more time the domain name. It's working fine for me and i'm using the SuSe firewall. Dominique Michel Lundi 12 Août 2002 19.12, Linux WebPlanet a écrit :
Dear All,
I have a problem configuring ADSL on my Suse 8.0. Hope it is a minor issue and someone can give me some hints soon.
I have two network card in my machine eth0 and eth1. I have already configured the ADSL(IP address and other details is provided by the ISP) and it was working. The connection is PPPOE. I use built-in pppoe software. However after an internal modem and an internal ISDN card was installed and configured(properly???) I can't make ADSL work again. It always says TIMED OUT. When I set up with adsl-setup I haven't used firewall and typed server as option for DNS.
What I did was:
1., configured eth0 as before with my own IP address. 2., configured eth1 to get IP address via DHCP. 3., I add the user name and password to pap-secrets and chap-secrets too. 4., I deleted everything from /etc/ppp/options. Shouldn't I? It was working before this way.
I might have missed some important info, but hope not.
Please answer everybody who has read it, have some time and have some experience how to install ADSL.
Thank you in advance.
Best Regards, csf
