Isn't that for notifications from the computer to the device? My problem was the other way. Stuff that appeared on the phone was sent to the computer. For example, I was getting notifications about a phone call long after it happened. What was most annoying were all the notifications from the GMail app, which receives the same messages as my email app on my computer. I don't need to see those notifications, though once is OK. It was the repeated notifications, for the same thing, even well after the event that were so annoying.
