Installing SuSE 8.0 (and 7.3, so I have no reason to believe that 8.1 will be different) from Hard Disk is how I do all my workstations - from the hard drive on the server. When I rebuilt the server recently, the old /home dir was on /dev/hdg, so I just used the files on that and didn't format it - then I swapped that drive into the filesystem later. Full instructions can be found at the SuSE website - do a keyword search on "hard drive" Jon => -----Original Message----- => From: Carlos E. R.
