I've been there and done it. The idea of Wine is pretty good even better than Wabi, because you can(should be able to run) Win 32 applications. But WINE is still in the Alpha state. So don't expect to much out of it. I am sure it will be a whole lot better next year. For now, you can better get Wabi 2.2. It runs only 16 bit applications, and is pretty stable. I run it for Word and Excel, and people run an x session doing WABI. Awsome... I know that you don't wanna pay 49 dollars to run old WIN16 applications. But here is a hint, goto: <A HREF="http://www.ftpsearch.com</A">http://www.ftpsearch.com</A> Type WABI, and set the number of hits to 100, and then with a ALT-F4 search for Linux. Then you will find it. (I am not pushing piracy here, this is for pure educational needs I purchased it after a long long test trial). Goodluck Steffen Wittum wrote:

Hi, everyone!
Just wondering if anyone was successful with WINE. I can launch some programs but can do nothing with them: can't open/save files, or can't create a folder for example.
Any info or pointers are cool,
Thanks,
alexm

See the options for WINE, especially the ddl-loading ones.
