However, in my route table I dont have the eth0 interface, only dummy, lo and ippp0 (isdn card, wich works fine). When I do a cat /proc/net/dev I don't see an eth0 entry
I don't see it when I run ifconfig When I do ifconfig eth0 194.229.176.150 (my IP adres) I get
SIOCSIFFLAGS: try again
Thats the same line I see twice when booting. When I do an ifconfig after that it's still not there. (obviously)
I figured whenever I get a problem like "SIOCSIFFLAGS: try again" -- means my kernel does not have support for the device. Just a few questions to ask yourself: Did you include suport for your card in kernel? If you did, did you compile and install the modules? When you run "dmesg" do you see your card identified? -alexm - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
