[oS-EN] Can a bad connection in HDMI cable lock a computer?

Can a bad connection in HDMI cable lock a computer? Machine runs Leap 15.5 at the moment. Video is old nvidia card. I had a hard lock after some hours or running, and then it was impossible to boot, it crashed (locked) at several places. After disconnect/reconnect hdmi cable both ends, it booted as is working.
