That's quite strange. There is no code change which could cause that. So if the openSUSE version of Firefox is really different it can only be caused by differences in used system libraries and also this seems a bit unlikely as the upstream Firefox is basically (not in every case) using the same system libraries.
I cannot, for the life of me tell you what caused this behavior. It was reproducable though and we have experienced it before.
And JFYI you cannot easily blame Novell for the state of Firefox since Novell as a company did only a few things for openSUSE's Firefox during the last years. You could probably blame me but in this case I feel not guilty at all.
Not trying to blame anyone here. As long as the Vanilla version still runs I don't see why we should start playing the blaming game ;) Like I said, I don't know what caused it, what exactly happened. However it was reproducable on all our thin clients and only occured in Gnome2 and XFCE4, never in KDE3 or KDE4. Also, it's not an 11.2 issue either, we've had the same problem in 11.1 already. But like I said - we're a bit special in that we don't run our servers and software the way the rest of the world seems to.
