All, When I canceled a message I was going to send, tbird crashed. The problem was tbird would NOT restart. It just kept creating crash reports. Attempting to start from the command line revealed the following: $ thunderbird (process:14627): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed (thunderbird:14627): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::sm-connect after class was initialised (thunderbird:14627): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::show-crash-dialog after class was initialised (thunderbird:14627): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::display after class was initialised (thunderbird:14627): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::default-icon after class was initialised 02:37 alchemy:~> (crashreporter:14638): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::sm-connect after class was initialised (crashreporter:14638): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::show-crash-dialog after class was initialised (crashreporter:14638): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::display after class was initialised (crashreporter:14638): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::default-icon after class was initialised This is apparently a thunderbird/glib issue: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=672671 I ended up having to windoze the box (reboot) to be able to launch tbird again.
