Cannot connect to SMTP server %S

      New 8.1 install with Mozilla mail.  dial-up works and connects.  can
surf the web. can receive mail.  pop and smtp servers have the same
name.  when I try to send mail, I get an error:  cannot connect to SMTP
server %S.

I think this is a suse problem, not mozilla mail.

Any ideas?
