Hi,
I installed SuSE's kernel-2.2.16 rpms -- standard kernel and source. Upon running lilo, rebooting worked just fine. (IIRC, that's what I did!)
Now, in a dual processor machine, I downloaded and installed SuSE's smp-kernel and sources, run lilo, BUT on rebooting I get a kernel panic. IIRC, the message has to do with modprobing the aic7xxx module... it can't find it. So, I reboot into a working kernel and did depmod -a 2.2.16.SuSE, but to no avail...
What else can/should I do? Anyone with a good experience to report? It worked fine in my single processor machine!
Is your Scsi driver loaded as module? Is it included in rc.config:INITRD_MODULES? Did you run mk_initrd? Is initrd=/boot/initrd enabled in lilo.conf? -Hanspeter -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
