There is no error message: what I wrote is exactly what happens when I try to perform a Yast2 update. If there is no registration required, where does the code come from to launch a dialog, which then launches a browser? Do you think I'm hallucinating?

Hi Can you grab a screenshot and post on http://paste.opensuse.org/ Select image in the 'language dropdown'?
It's not asking for a new repository key?
Oh: I was having an issue with tumbleweed:raw: the repmond.xml file not being downloaded. Generally I just 'skip' when this happens, and everything (except updates from the skipped repository) works fine. In this case, not so much, but if I disable the repository all goes well. I'll paste some screen caps anyway, since this shouldn't be happening under any circumstances. They are: update_strangeness_1.png to update_strangeness_4.png, the latter three posted as replies to the first.
