Hi again.
I did use another ftp-client (IglooFTP), just to make sure. Another thing I changed was the ftp-server itself. First several hundred packages I got from ftp2.suse.com, then I switched to ftp.gwdg.de which is much, much faster (tip of the day).
Well, ftp2.suse.com -> ip is: 202.58.118.12 ftp.suse.com -> ip is: 202.58.118.12
could be ftp2 faster ? Well I don't know,
but YES!! i have installed SuSE 7.3.
Now i know what was the problem. I had download the suse/setup with wget and
it was downloaded ASCII not BINARY. I re-download with IglooFTP this folder
and the sub folders and just for the case i download the suse/setup and
suse/images as a tar file from ftp.gwdg.de. I check them with md5sum with the
command :
md5sum -c MD5SUM
and all the files was ok. NOTE that the first check (wget download) failed
for some files.
I didn't untar the inst-img.tar.gz, made the 3 disks and that's it everything
went ok.
So i take my lesson. NEVER download any files in ASCII mode..!!!!!!!!!!
