LS, I tried to playback some video files with the MP4 or DV extension, without suc6. I used MVP, Xine, DragonPlayer and VLC but only VLC let me hear some audio but, like all others, no video. Just to test, KDENLIVE did work, but of course is not intended as a player. Some complained that there was no DV codec present, so I installed libdv4 too - libdv was already present. Alas, this did not work too. I used most of the programs in the past, in one time or another, and all played well. Can anybody shed some light on what is going on here, or do I need to compile a video player myself?
