Will be interesting to see if they can "finish" kde4 before Nokia Trolltech rolls out version 5 of QT. Perhaps with their interest being a trifle fixated on cell phones at the present they will drag their feet a little WRT the desktop side of the house.
Once QT v5 becomes the 'officially supported' version Qt 4.x will be expected to go bye bye. Just like QT 3 before it. Then we can all look forward to v6 - rinse, lather, repeat...

Trolltech was acquired by Nokia to enable easier cross platform development with a more advanced UI to that available to SymbianOS at the time of the takeover. While maemo is linux based, it is targeted at (Nokia) tablet style devices, Therefore further QT development is highly likely to be optimised for smartphone and tablet requirements. However, it will probably have a place in PC to phone communication. . While Nokia has a dire record with opensource, until the trolltech development team is formally incorporated into Nokia, the proverbial brown sticky stuff is unlikely to hit the air circulation unit. AFAIK Nokia have no publicised plans to change the current situation. - -- ============================================================================== I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
