Dear Ben & SuSE'ers The bug turned out to be a somewhat non-standard Panasonic CDROM device; I swapped it out for an ASUS CDROM and BANG! audio cds are completely available in Konqi! I love it! The Panasonic was a 5 disc changer that was given to me; it worked w/o error or complaint in M$ stuff. It was plugged 'Slave' and the new one went to the same cable connector Thanks! Ben and everyone! .........PeterB On Sunday 30 June 2002 21:21, Ben Rosenberg wrote:
This error looks like the same one I got with my workstation in the office. The fix for that machine was to make sure the hd was master and the CDROM that was attached was slave. The machine at work was a Compaq and they often do silly stuff like set both devices "cable select" which is bad..very bad. Check to see if your cdrom is either master if it's the only device on the EIDE chain or if it's slave if it's attached to the hd on the EIDE chain.
