Ok, so it is using scsi emulation, and is detected by the kernel. Now, do "ls -l /dev/cdrom /dev/cdrecorder" It should be something like: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2003-01-04 12:46 /dev/cdrecorder -> scd1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2002-11-07 19:37 /dev/cdrom -> scd0 If it is not, correct.
